Danilo Díaz Tarascó — electronics engineer, Medellín

I build industrial IoT products end to end: PCBs and firmware for harsh environments, the cloud that keeps fleets alive, and the 12-engineer team that ships it all.

Portrait of Danilo Díaz Tarascó

Hardware roots, cloud reach, team scale.

I'm a hands-on CTO and electronics engineer. For more than ten years I've built IIoT products across embedded systems, connected hardware, and AWS-backed platforms, going from MCU firmware, PCB design, and FCC certification to serverless infrastructure and production rollouts in LATAM, the Caribbean, and the US.

At Sento I lead a 12-engineer team inside a 30-person company. We helped take the business from negative to positive EBITDA while revenue grew ~60% over three years, and I lean on AI tooling (Claude Code, Codex, MCP) so a lean team ships like a large one.

GW-Standalone

An autonomous IoT gateway for sites with no reliable network, written in MicroPython for the LoPy4 (ESP32).

  • Multi-link uplink: LoRa P2P, Wi-Fi AP, and cellular (Blues Notecard)
  • Bidirectional LoRa protocol with auto-ACK and a persistent flash buffer, so no reading is lost offline

Harsh-environment IIoT hardware, from prototype to export

IPC-compliant PCBs, enclosures, solar telemetry, and chemical-dosing control cabinets for poultry, swine, and agro-industrial sites. I took FCC certification through to approval, wrote MicroPython firmware with supervisor mechanisms for availability and energy efficiency, and moved prototypes from 3D printing to injection molding for LATAM, Caribbean, and US rollouts.
